Public packaging fees, organisations and source documents for Belgium, with QA-checked English where available and the official tariff wording always retained.
Published packaging EPR fees in Belgium run from about 0.00 to 4.42 EUR per kilogram, set by the material and its recyclability. Gramta holds 147 current pricing records from 2 named organisations or government fee systems, reviewed 11 Aug 2026, and calculates only the weight-based rates that apply without guessing.
Add each material you place on the Belgium market and its yearly weight for a sourced ballpark. The full reference below lists every published rate, including unit, fixed, formula and quote-only methods.
Add your packaging materials
Add each material you place on this market and its approximate yearly weight. Gramta multiplies each by its current sourced rate and adds them up.
Recyclability changes the price
This scheme charges different rates inside the same material family. That gap is eco-modulation: harder-to-recycle packaging costs more. From 2030 PPWR ties packaging fees to a recyclability grade, and Gramta works that grade out from your packaging spec.
This is the tedious part
The number above is a rough guide for one scheme. Filing for real means doing this for every material and every country you sell into, adding the extra fees on top, and getting it exactly right, year after year.
You owe fees in every EU country you ship to, not just one.
Every product's packaging has to be weighed and sorted by material.
There are extra fixed fees, minimums, and higher rates for hard-to-recycle packaging.
And it has to be filed accurately, on time, every single year.
You don't have to do this by hand
Send us your sales and your packaging details once. Gramta works out the fees for every country you sell in and keeps each report up to date and ready to file.
Belgium runs a competitive producer-responsibility system, so a business chooses and pays one PRO. 2 are active in the dataset: FOST PLUS and VALIPAC. Their material scopes and prices differ, so the right one is the PRO named in your Belgium registration or contract. Registration and the definitive list of approved organisations sit with the national register, linked in the organisations section below.
Fees are set per kilogram of each material and vary by recyclability. In Belgium, 2 routes publish weight-based rates you can estimate in the calculator above; unit-based, fixed and formula charges are listed in full below with their sources.
Packaging organisations in Belgium
A producer responsibility organisation (PRO) is the organisation a business joins and pays to meet packaging recycling obligations. Some countries instead use a government fee system. Use the name from your contract or registration.

A consumer sales unit is one sellable product unit, often called a UVC in the source tariff. These rows use a different declaration method from kilogram-based material fees; they are not automatically an extra charge on the same packaging.

Packaging EPR fees in Belgium are charged per kilogram of each material, with the rate set by the material and often its recyclability grade. The total also depends on the organisation or government system you use, the packaging scope and the weight. This page lists 147 current pricing records and calculates the weight-based rates directly; negotiated or unpublished prices are marked, never guessed.
Which packaging organisation should I choose in Belgium?
Use the producer responsibility organisation named in your Belgium registration or contract. The known options in Belgium are FOST PLUS and VALIPAC. Where several compete, their prices and packaging scopes differ, so Gramta lists them but never selects a default for a business.
Which authority runs packaging EPR in Belgium?
Packaging EPR in Belgium is overseen by a national register and authority, linked from the organisations section of this page. You register there, then join or contract a producer responsibility organisation to meet the obligation. Gramta links the official register so you can confirm the current approved organisations yourself.
Do I need PPWR as well as packaging EPR in Belgium?
Most sellers in Belgium face both frameworks. Packaging EPR sets the recycling fees on this page; the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) adds design rules and a Declaration of Conformity that applies EU-wide, Belgium included. They run in parallel, and a product's recyclability grade increasingly drives the EPR fee under both.
When were the Belgium EPR fees checked?
The Belgium dataset was reviewed 11 Aug 2026. Every fee line also carries its own effective period, review date and primary-source link. Expired fee lines are excluded from the current calculator.
